ARE YOU 50 YEARS OLD OR OLDER? The Senior Scholars Program is an all-volunteer teaching and learning opportunity that offers intellectually stimulating non-credit courses for people who are fifty or older. The Program is sponsored by the Department of Continuing Education at Mississippi University for Women as part of community outreach. Seniors are given the opportunity to suggest courses, enroll in courses, teach courses, network with other seniors, and exchange ideas, as they continue their quest for knowledge and expand their lives.
Benefits of Being a Senior Scholar include:
The membership fee is $35.00 for each six-week term (Fall, Winter, Spring). This fee allows you to take as many courses as you wish for that term. Course offerings for the Fall 2009 term are listed on the back of this page. Because class size is limited, be sure to return your registration form early.
Program Purpose:
The Senior Scholars Program is designed to offer intellectually stimulating non-credit classes for people in the greater Columbus area who are fifty-five or older and who share a love of learning and/or teaching. Courses will cover a wide range of subjects but will be designed to meet the unique physical, intellectual, and social needs of its participants.
