Admissions Checklist

The following check list will assist you as you navigate the admissions process. If you ever have questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

• Read the information about admissions on this website , in the Catalog, and on the websites of individual programs . Some programs have special admissions requirements, which are listed in the catalog.
• Download the appropriate application and related materials from this site.
• Submit the application and related materials, which include:
  • Graduate Application
  • A $25 application fee, payable to MUW Graduate Studies, except for the MFA program, which requires a $100 application fee, payable to Accademia dell’Arte.
  • Immunization Form
  • Official transcripts from each institution attended
  • Official GRE Scores (This requirement does not apply to MFA applicants, post-master’s applicants, and applicants for non-degree programs.)
  • Two letters of recommendation for the MFA in Physical Theatre; three recommendation forms for all other graduate programs Note that graduate programs in Education other than Health Education use a recommendation form embedded in the general application form.
• Meet the appropriate application deadlines:
  • For graduate programs in Education, the following deadlines for application materials apply:
    • spring term – December 1st
    • summer term – April 1st
    • fall term – August 1st
  • Note that April 1st is the preferred application deadline for applications to the Master of Arts in Teaching, the Master of Education in Educational Leadership, and Gifted Certification.
  • For the graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology, the deadline for application materials is March 1st.
  • For the graduate program in Physical Theatre, the deadline for application materials is March 1.
  • For graduate programs in Nursing, the deadline for application materials is April 1st.
• Meet special admissions requirements for individual graduate programs. See the catalog for more details about these requirements, and contact individual graduate programs for details about when and how to complete these requirements.
• Submit, if appropriate, applications for financial assistance:
  • Graduate Scholarship
  • Graduate Assistantship
  • The deadline for submitting applications for financial assistance is two months prior to the beginning of the term. Note that graduate programs in Education other than Heath Education use a scholarship application form that is embedded in the general application form
