Students who graduate with honors leave MUW with a wealth of knowledge and experience to assist them in the next stage of their lives. Here is just a sample of where recent honors graduates have gone after MUW:

Karen Ziegler, class of 2000, graduated from law school and works at the Children's Hospital Foundation in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Amrita Balachandran, class of 2005, is pursuing a doctorate in immunology at the University of Pittsburgh.

Katreece Ellis, class of 2006, is attending the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Susie Baker, class of 2006, is attending MSU's College of Veterinary Medicine.

Bridget Singleton, class of 2006, is attending the University of South Alabama's College of Medicine.

Emily Hobbs, class of 2007, is serving in the Peace Corps in Francophone Africa.

Amber King, class of 2007, is working on a master's degree in English at the University of Alabama.

Carrie Pate, class of 2007, is working at Gulf Coast Family Counseling in Ocean Springs while preparing to go to graduate school.

While at MUW, honors students have many opportunities to prepare for their future professional lives. Here is just a sample of experiences that recent and current honors students have had through the Honors College:

Irene Miller attended a seminar on Leaders on Leadership in Washington, D.C., summer 2007.

Rachel Delk delivered a paper based on her honors project at the conference of the Southern States Communication Association in Louisville, Kentucky, spring 2007.

Megan Stoner delivered a paper at the SW/TX Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, spring 2007, and will deliver two more papers (one of which is based on her honors project) at the same conference spring 2008. She also delivered a paper at the fall 2007 conference for the National Collegiate Honors Council.

Erin Williams was elected the BSN state-wide representative of the Mississippi Association of Student Nurses in 2007.
