What is it?
This
spring, MUW will be participating in the National Survey
of Student Engagement (NSSE, pronounced “Nessie”),
which will involve over 700 colleges and
universities. The purpose of the NSSE is to study the
quality of your academic experiences at MUW in five
areas:
What does the NSSE tell us?
Who
takes it?
A
random sample of FRESHMEN and graduating SENIORS
Why
should you participate?
1.
Help shape the future of MUW! Are you being
challenged at MUW? Does the university provide you with
a supportive environment? Are you engaging in campus
activities, going on internships, and doing group
projects? And how often do you engage with faculty
outside the classroom?
MUW wants the answers to
these questions. You can help us while letting your
voice be heard.
2.
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZE DRAWINGS.
3.
The results are provided with
benchmark comparisons to peer institutions.
When do you take it?
Students will receive an invitation letter through
regular mail in February 2009. The letter will include
a paper copy and a web link to the survey, which takes
only 15 minutes to complete. Students will also receive
email and postcard reminders to participate. Early
responders will be eligible for prizes.
What do you need to do NOW?
To
ensure that you receive your survey if selected, please
update your address (in the Registrar’s Office) and
e-mail (on Banner Web).
