Awareness Walk for Parkinson’s Disease
April 11 @ 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm
April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. In order to bring awareness to this disease and how it impacts communication and swallowing, our student organization, National Student Speech Language and Hearing Assoc. (NSSLHA), is hosting a walk on April 11. We will take donations for the Parkinson Voice Project, which is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to help people with Parkinson’s maintain their speech and communication while minimizing life-threatening swallowing complications.
Our walk will start at the gazebo at 12:30 — We will have some of our Parkinson clients from the Speech and Hearing Center here to discuss how speech therapy has improved their voice.
Hosted by: National Student Speech Language Hearing Association
