The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, the state’s only public residential high school for academically gifted students, will be highlighted at Town & Tower’s Thursday, June 27 meeting on the campus of Mississippi University for Women.

Program speakers will include Ginger Tedder, who was recently named executive director of MSMS; Dr. Thomas Easterling who was recently named MSMS director for academics; and Emma Richardson, one of the original MSMS faculty members and the author of “A History of The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science,” who will provide highlights of that history.

Centrally located on The W’s campus, MSMS and The W have had a mutually beneficial relationship for more than 35 years.

The cost to attend the luncheon, which will be held in the Brigham Dining Room, Hogarth Dining Center at 11:30 a.m., is $15. The menu will include mozzarella and spinach stuffed chicken breast, herb-roasted potato wedges, grilled fresh zucchini, garden salad and chocolate layer cake with chocolate icing. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available by request.
