Mississippi University for Women will welcome new and returning students to campus for Move-In Day Saturday, Aug. 17. The event marks the beginning of the academic year and the launch of the university’s Blues Week festivities.

“We look forward to seeing you on August 17 for Move-In Day. We invite all students to participate in the many Blues Week events planned as we look forward to another successful year,” said Andrew Moneymaker, director of the Office of Housing and Residence Life.

Check-in begins at 9 a.m., with students directed to their respective residence halls, where university staff and faculty will assist with room assignments and check-ins. To ease the moving process, volunteers will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help unload vehicles and move students’ belongings into their rooms.

To ensure everyone stays hydrated and cool, Sno Biz and Snowie Cool Treats will be available on campus during Move-In hours.

Faculty and staff members interested in volunteering can contact Moneymaker, while off-campus groups are encouraged to reach out to Asia Duren, director of Student Life.

For additional details on what to bring, students are encouraged to review the “What to Bring List” available at: What to Bring List.

Classes at The W begin Wednesday, Aug. 21

Due to planned construction and renovations, please note that Jones Hall is offline for W students until further notice.
