Mississippi University for Women invites prospective students and their families to experience all that campus has to offer during the annual Fall Preview Day Owls Unlocked, Thursday, Oct. 3. This special event will provide a comprehensive look at the academic, social and career-building opportunities that await future students at The W.

The day begins at 9:30 a.m. with check-in and registration at Parkinson Hall. Preregistration is encouraged. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. with an overview of The W, offering attendees insight on the university’s rich history, academic programs, award opportunities and admission requirements.

Following the overview, students will have the opportunity to connect with representatives from campus support offices, including Career Services, Counseling Center, Dean of Students, Financial Aid and more. Fall Preview Day is an excellent opportunity to ask questions and unlock the support offered to W students throughout their college journey.

Representatives from each of the academic colleges and the School of Education pitch their degree programs in a fast-paced, engaging style. This fun and informative session will give students a glimpse into the wide array of academic opportunities available at The W.

Attendees will also enjoy a complimentary lunch, providing a chance to connect with admissions counselors and ambassadors. Following lunch, there will be an organization and involvement fair, showcasing the diverse range of student organizations, activities and academic departments that enrich student life on campus. Open tours of the residence halls will give students an inside look at what living on campus is really like.

The day will conclude with guided campus tours, led by current students who will share their personal experiences and favorite spots on campus. This is a wonderful way for prospective students to envision themselves as part of The W community.

Dr. David Brooking, executive director of Enrollment Management at The W, expressed his excitement for the upcoming event, stating, “There are so many wonderful and unique things about The W that are best experienced in person.
