Celebrate Homecoming at The W April 3-6

Mississippi University for Women welcomes alumni, friends and the campus community for Homecoming 2025, April 3–6. The celebration promises a weekend of entertainment and reconnections as attendees celebrate memories and university traditions.

“This year’s Homecoming events should provide fun activities for all. While we are particularly celebrating graduates from ’00 and ’05 years, I encourage participation from all of our alumni. Come join the fun,” said University President Nora Miller.

Participating alumni and guests are encouraged to take advantage of the early bird registration of $20, lasting until Saturday, March 1 at 5 p.m. The registration fee will increase to $40 afterwards and again on Thursday, March 20 to $50. The class of 2020 is being honored due to their resilience and perseverance, with an exclusive discounted registration fee of $20 or less for all events.

Director of Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement Cathryn Borer said, “I am thrilled to welcome alumni back to campus for Homecoming. This special tradition is a time to reconnect, celebrate shared memories and create new ones. Whether it’s your first time returning or a cherished annual event, we can’t wait to see you.”

Golden Girls Alumni Lunch, Social Club Reunion and Tailgating with the Team are among the events taken place during Homecoming 2025.

Homecoming 2025 events:

Thursday, April 3

  • Spring Fling: Free professional headshots, gifts and networking opportunities for current juniors and seniors.
  • Alumni Art Exhibition: Showcasing works by Elayne Goodman and honoring trailblazing women in university history.
  • Nell Peel Wolfe Lecture: Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis will deliver an inspiring keynote.
  • Interclub March: A cherished tradition featuring W social clubs.

Friday, April 4

  • Silver and Gold Social Hour: Honoring the Class of 2000 and the Golden Girls of 1975 in a unique cross-generational gathering.
  • Campus Tour with President Miller: Receive a personal campus tour from President Nora Miller, accompanied by live jazz and student-led insights. The tour will conclude at Fant Memorial Library where alumni will enjoy coffee with student scholars.
  • Golden Girls Alumni Lunch: Honoring the Class of 1975, Golden Girls will share stories, laughter, and memories.
  • Student vs. Alumni Line Dance Competition: Join the fun with a friendly competition between alumni and current students.
  • MUW Alumni Association Annual Meeting
  • Magnolia Mingle: An evening of music, food and fellowship on Shattuck Hall Lawn.

Saturday, April 5

  • Convocation: Celebrate alumni achievements and enjoy class reunions with the Long Blue Line.
  • W Family Picnic: A fun-filled, family-friendly lunch under the big tent.
  • Social Clubs, Local Fraternity/Sorority, and Student Organization Reunions
  • The W Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony: Recognizing outstanding contributions to university athletics.
  • Tailgating with the Team
  • Black Alumni Sneaker Ball: An elegant and lively celebration of Black excellence.

Sunday, April 6

  • Chapel Service: A reflective service to conclude the weekend with a message and music from alumni.
