MUW’s QEP
The MUW QEP, Empowering Your Journey, is designed to help students get career-ready and see themselves as the job-ready professionals and future leaders that they are! Our goal is to support student success by promoting professional development and career readiness across the curriculum and through outside-the-classroom opportunities, including internships, mentorship programs, research opportunities, and other high-impact learning.
The QEP Goal will focus on three outcomes:
- Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of career-readiness competencies appropriate to their academic disciplines and to their career goals;
- Students will have the opportunity to engage in high impact experiences, such as internships, experiential learning, research experiences, applied learning, and service learning, that promote their professional goals and develop their career-readiness competencies;
- Students will be able to communicate effectively their career-readiness competencies.

What is a QEP?
The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is part of MUW’s accreditation review process with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Every ten years, SACSCOC asks the university to assess where it is in relation to its goals for student learning and/or the student learning environment. Based on that institutional reflection and review, we (the university campus) create a new five-year plan to do work that will support, transform, or enhance our students’ learning and success. The QEP is a five-year commitment to a project plan that will become part of who we are and what we do at MUW. It is a process meant to transform student learning and make us better at what we do.
