This exhibition, with scenes of daily life from around the world, is the project of this fall semester’s museum studies course.  The students in the class have researched various works of art from the permanent collection and designed the exhibition as a way to introduce museum professions and practices.

October 4 – November 2Intersections of Gender and Place is a biennial exhibition that examines various issues of gender and also the impact of this region on the artist’s work. The parameters are purposefully vague so that the invited artists may address the theme through their own interpretations. The result is lively ‘conversation’ about gender in the South.

Summer 2023 – September 15, 2023
The W Galleries is proud to have one of the oldest permanent art collections in the state.  Dr. Ralph Hudson began the collection as a teaching aid in the late 1940s.  From its inception, the collection has focused on artwork from the region.  We continue to collect artwork by Southern artists, and this exhibition features several new acquisitions as well as older favorites.
