Through the generosity of our alumni and friends, the department is able to award thousands of dollars in scholarships to current undergraduate and transfer students each year, based primarily on your academic record and need. These scholarships are generally limited to students with a major or minor in the department, though each scholarship has its own selection criteria from the donors, which we honor when making the awards. In order to help us consider everyone who is eligible for the following awards, we have created an online application. Completing the application does not guarantee an award, and students who do not complete an application but who are recommended by the faculty may still be awarded a scholarship; however, completing the application does give you the opportunity to put your name forward for the awards.

Cost shouldn't be a barrier. At The W it won't be. We believe that the cost of a college education should not be a deterrent to your pursuit of earning a bachelor's degree. The W has kept tuition among the lowest in the Southeast. We offer that same low tuition to residents of every state, and a range of scholarships, and grants to help you pay for your education.
See for yourself! Our Net Price Calculators can tell you what you can expect to pay in tuition and the scholarships you are eligible to receive.
We've eliminated all Out-of-State Fees, so no matter where you are from, you can get the same great education for the same price as a Mississippi resident. Really!
Be sure to also complete the FAFSA and apply to the University to be eligible for other forms of financial aid. Incoming students are strongly encouraged to complete their application and financial aid applications prior to April 15.
