Welcome from the Department Chair
Welcome to the Department of Business. You often hear that The W is a special place, and it is! Its traditions, commitment to academic excellence, small teacher-to-student ratio; as well as its incredibly beautiful, historic campus contribute to a truly special learning environment. In fact, it has been said that The W is a public university that feels much like a private college.
At The W, student success lies at the heart of everything we do. First and foremost, The W emphasizes teaching and learning. Our faculty members bring years of real-world experience and excellent academic qualifications to the classroom and are known for being approachable and helpful to all students. At The W, students benefit from small classes, close interaction with engaged faculty, personalized advising, and interactions with high achieving peers.
Faculty in the Department of Business believe in an interactive learning experience with the inclusion of real-world experience in the classroom. Students have opportunities to work on consulting projects with local businesses, business simulation games, and case study. Our professors also welcome local business leaders into their classroom to share their experience with our students.
The business discipline is a broad field with a variety of potential career opportunities. That is why we offer a variety of concentrations to best support individual interests and career goals. We also know that balancing school, work, and family obligations can be a challenge, which is why we offer flexible learning options to suit the needs of every student. Whether you prefer to immerse yourself in the face-to-face classroom or need the flexibility of learning online, The W’s Department of Business has options available to you.
On behalf of the faculty and staff here in the Department of Business at MUW, we look forward to meeting and working with you to build your academic and professional future. I encourage you to examine all that we have to offer. I, or any of the faculty in the department, would be happy to assist you in any way possible, so please feel free to make contact with any questions or information needs you may have.
