Campus Closed Due to Inclement Weather

W ALERT: Due to the enhanced threat of severe weather from Hurricane Francine, all classes, events and activities are canceled for tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 12). All campus offices will be closed. Students should check Canvas to learn about course expectations.

Food Services will be closed for breakfast and will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. Subway will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Starbucks will be closed.

The weather forecast shows periods of heavy rainfall in the morning. During periods of heavy rain, some areas on campus are prone to flooding. Please use caution if you park your vehicle in the following areas: Fifth Avenue (front of library), MSCW Drive (front of post office), 10th Street South (front of Cromwell Hall), and Northwest corner of Goen Hall. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact The W Police Department at (662) 241-7777.

Difficult travel conditions are possible and travel is strongly discouraged. Please be safe.

The campus community is encouraged to monitor W ALERT, university email and the website, and stay tuned to local media outlets for updates.

The university plans to resume normal operations Friday, Sept. 13.
