Dr. Kate Borsig has authored two graduate textbook chapters, published in educational journals, and served as editor or reviewer for several national publications. A frequent speaker at state and national professional meetings, Dr. Borsig has conducted four presentations for the U.S. Department of Education.
In 2001, Dr. Borsig submitted her first grant proposal seeking funding for a community action project for her middle school students. Since that time, she has developed over one hundred proposals, had in excess of $25 million in project funding awarded, and served as project director and principal investigator for numerous federal, state, and foundation grant-funded initiatives and research studies.
For 15 years, she served in various administrative roles at Mississippi University for Women, most recently as Director of Outreach and Innovation, where she oversaw multiple departments, including the Center for Creative Learning, Continuing Education, Professional Learning Academy, and the Mississippi Governor’s School. Since leaving the university, Dr. Borsig has continued to offer courses in the Women’s Leadership program as a visiting scholar.
