Personal: Rose is married to Dr. Lee Ford (optometrist at Golden Triangle Eye Clinic). They have two wild and rowdy little boys, Henry (8) and Don (6), that cause all the gray hairs (for Rose anyway, her husband has rubbed his head bald)! Rose’s stepdaughter, Nikki, and son-in-love, Taylor, have promoted her to “Grams” with the addition of Wren Leigh (2). Rose’s stepson, Bo, transferred to the W and is pursuing his goals in culinary arts. Rose doesn’t have much time for hobbies but loves to cook for her family and at church gatherings. She is a member of the Long Blue Line. Before teaching in Higher Education, she taught for nine years in five schools, varying levels from PK-8th grade, and was also a Literacy Leader. Rose is currently working on her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focused study in Literacy. Rose stands by our School of Education’s mission statement for a lifelong learning education model. She pursues ongoing professional development to strengthen our literacy teacher preparation program and supports our local community’s initiatives to enhance students’ learning success.
