African Masks from the Permanent Collection
October 19, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
This exhibition features a set of masks from central Africa. Little was known about this collection until recently when Dr. Brittany Sheldon, an art historian specializing in African art, was able to identify the ethnic group for each mask. She posits that the masks are quality copies of original masks used in ceremonies and are examples of the African tourist economy.
