League of Women Voters Launch Party

If you want to get more informed and involved in state and local politics, or you want to help others do the same, come check out the newest chapter of the League of Women Voters in Mississippi! This nonpartisan political organization encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The LWV of the Golden Triangle Area branch serves Columbus, Starkville, West Point, and the surrounding areas and is hoping to add new members and hear from the community about the sorts of civics programming and advocacy they want to see in their communities. There will be light refreshments and a book raffle featuring biographies of powerful Democratic and Republican women from US history.
