Kinesiology is the study of the anatomy, physiology, and mechanics of human movement. The university offers two concentrations in Kinesiology: The Exercise Science concentration prepares students to work in the health/fitness industry or to work with athletes in a non-school setting. The Health Professions concentration is based upon admissions requirements for the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Health Related Professions (SHRP). Students interested in pursuing careers such as physical therapy or occupational therapy must formally apply for and be accepted to the Health Professions program. Laboratory activities provide hands-on experiences with equipment commonly used in the field.
