Installing Forticlient VPN Client
Notes: Below are instructions on how to install the Forticlient and initiate a VPN connection.
Forticlient can be downloaded here: https://forticlient.com/downloads
Installing on a Windows PC
You will only need “Security Fabric Agent” and “Secure Remote Access” features checked when installing the program. Please ensure “Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) Components” and “Additional Security Features” are unchecked.
Click “Next” and allow Forticlient to install completely. It will prompt you that it is scanning the PC when it first installs itself, and may take awhile to install. It may also prompt you to restart your computer to allow Forticlient to install completely.
Adding the VPN connections to a Forticlient after it is installed.
1. Click the Gear Icon in the upper right corner of the program and click “Add a new Connection”
2. Fill in the following Details for the connection, then click “Save”:
Connection Name: MUW
Remote Gateway: 209.147.208.110
Authentication: Save login and enter the Username
This can be set to Prompt on login if you do not want the user name saved.
Select “Do not Warn Invalid Server Certificate
Connecting to the Office via Forticlient:
1. Click Connect after you enter your Windows Username and password:
2. The Forticlient will connect and will present a screen like which states VPN Connected:
At this point, you should be able to access resources at the office via the Forticlient connection.
Installing Forticlient VPN Client on a Mac
Forticlient can be downloaded here: https://forticlient.com/downloads
You will only need the Secure Remote Access and Security Fabric portions of the program when installing.
1. Run the Installer from the downloaded location by double clicking on it.
2. Double click Install
3. Click Continue.
4. Click Continue.
5. Click Agree.
6. Click Install.
7. Enter the credentials you use to login to your Mac.
8. Click Close.
9. Click Move to Trash.
Adding the VPN connections to a Forticlient after it is installed
1. Click the VPN icon in your menu bar, and select Open FortiClient Console.
2. Click on Configure VPN.
3. Fill in the following Details for the connection, then click “Save”:
Connection Name: MUW
Remote Gateway: 209.147.208.110
Authentication: Save login and enter the Username
This can be set to Prompt on login if you do not want the user name saved.
