Welcome to the MUW Department of music!

We are dedicated to excellence in education that we offer to our students as well as in the concerts and events we offer to the community.

Our music majors receive an undergraduate education centered around their success and catered to their individual learning style. Our faculty are dedicated to helping each student develop his or her own unique potential.  Our class sizes are small enough to facilitate a lot of interaction between professors and students. 

Our guest artist series regularly feature world-renowned artists such as the opera singer Angela Brown and pianists Awadagin Pratt and Evgeny Rivkin. Students also have the opportunity to participate in master classes conducted by these famous musicians.

We are located in the historic, newly renovated, Poindexter Hall.  Our facilities feature state-of-the-art technology blended with a beautiful architecture and an acoustically superb performance space, Connie Sills Kossen Auditorium. 

Our graduates join the Long Blue Line of musicians, educators, and music therapists who have always had a great musical impact on our state and our nation.
