LGBTQ+ History Lecture Recital

This LGBTQ+ history lecture recital features classical songs and arias by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer-identified composers, on texts by LGBTQ+ poets, about issues frequently faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and about real events from LGBTQ+ history.

Composers represented include David del Tredici, Grey Grant, Ricky Ian Gordon, Paula Kimper, Ashley Seward, and others. Topics include life before and after the Stonewall Rebellion, love in the 19th century, self-discovery and self-acceptance, overcoming violence, and more. Performed by soprano Susan Hurley and pianist William Reber.

Viewer discretion is advised as topics covered include adult themes such as: HIV/AIDS, violence, La Senora de las Sombras, brutal homophobic murders, and more.
