LGBTQ+ History Lecture Recital

This LGBTQ+ history lecture recital features classical songs and arias by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer-identified composers, on texts by LGBTQ+ poets, about issues frequently faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and about real events from LGBTQ+ history.

Composers represented include David del Tredici, Grey Grant, Ricky Ian Gordon, Paula Kimper, Ashley Seward, and others. Topics include life before and after the Stonewall Rebellion, love in the 19^th century, self-discovery and self-acceptance, overcoming violence, and more. Performed by soprano Susan Hurley and pianist William Reber.
