Mississippi University for Women is preparing for its highly anticipated Homecoming 2025, set to take place from Thursday, April 3, to Sunday, April 6. This annual celebration invites alumni, current students and the community to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate the traditions of The W.

“As we approach Homecoming 2025, I invite all alumni to return to campus and reconnect with the vibrant community that helped shape who we are today,” said MUWAA President Jermarra Jones-Price of Southaven, a 2008 graduate. “Whether it’s reminiscing with old friends, celebrating our achievements or seeing the growth of our beloved university, Homecoming is a time to honor our past and embrace our future together. Join us for a weekend of memories, pride and tradition — we can’t wait to welcome you back to The W!”

The weekend will feature a variety of events, from academic lectures to social gatherings, artistic exhibitions to athletic celebrations. It kicks off with registration starting at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 3. The day will feature an alumni art exhibition and reception at Summer Hall, the Nell Peel Wolfe Lecture Series and Interclub March by Hogarth Dining Center.

Performances of “The Chairs” at the Black Box Theatre in Cromwell Hall are set for 8 p.m. Thursday and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Friday, April 4, will feature a luncheon honoring the Golden Girls – those who graduated in the Class of 1975 – as well as an Alumni vs. Students line-dancing competition, the MUW Alumni Association annual meeting at Poindexter Hall and Magnolia Mingle, which will feature music, food stations and desserts created by W culinary students.

Saturday, April 5’s schedule includes a 10:30 a.m. Homecoming Convocation at Whitfield Hall, The W family picnic starting at noon and reunions for two-year and four-year social clubs, fraternities and student organizations. Tailgating with the Team at 5 p.m. will precede The W Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony and Banquet. Evening reunion events for Golden Girls, members of the Classes of 1965 and 1970 and Black alumni are also planned for Saturday night.

Homecoming closes, Sunday, with a 9:30 a.m. service at Carrier Chapel.
