Chef Jackie Sharp, chef-owner of Capell House at Pebble Hill, will host a Valentine’s Day brunch and demonstration Friday, Feb. 14, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Culinary Arts Institute on the campus of Mississippi University for Women.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chef Jackie Sharp to the Culinary Arts Institute for this special Valentine’s event,” said Tracee Watkins, director of the Culinary Arts Institute. “Her passion for blending Southern flavors with classical French techniques promises an inspiring and delicious experience. We invite the public to join us for culinary creativity and celebration.”
Sharp, a Florida native and accomplished graduate of the Culinary Institute of Virginia (2011), has transformed the Capell House at Pebble Hill into a premier destination for travelers seeking a unique blend of history, culinary artistry and modern comfort. Inspired by her admiration for Harper Lee, the renowned author of “To Kill a Mockingbird,” her journey led her to Alabama’s Black Belt region, where she discovered and fell in love with the historic Capell House.
Tickets for the event are $39 per individual and available for purchase by phone at (662) 241-7472. Limited seating available.
Capell House is a 25-acre working farm near Camden, Alabama, that blends history, culinary creativity and modern convenience. The home is notable for its gracious wraparound porch and umbrella-hipped roof.
Since opening its doors in 2019, Sharp, alongside her loyal Bahamian potcake pup, Poppy, has welcomed guests from around the world to experience the charm and heritage of this remarkable property. Beyond her culinary pursuits, Sharp is a dedicated competition equestrian and painter, passionately committed to preserving the rich history of the Capell House and its surrounding community.
