Lowery named interim CFO at The W
Mississippi University for Women has named Carla Lowery as interim vice president for operations and chief financial officer (CFO), effective May 1.
“Carla Lowery has over 30 years of professional experience in the areas of data analysis and information technology with progressive leadership roles. Mrs. Lowery has served as a research analyst, director and executive director of Institutional Research, SACSCOC accreditation liaison, emergency management lead and chief information officer,” said W President Nora Miller.
Lowery has served The W since 2001 holding various leadership positions. As a faculty member, Lowery taught various courses, including information systems using microcomputers, MIS projects and database applications.
She has served the university through numerous committees and councils including Enrollment Management Council, SACSCOC Steering Committee, Quality Enhancement Plan Selection Committee, President’s Cabinet, Academic Council and Administrative Council.
As CFO, Lowery will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the university and oversee University Accounting, Resources Management, Facilities Management, Information Technology Services and Institutional Research and Assessment.
Lowery holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Mississippi State University and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mississippi University for Women.
In addition to her experience and education, Lowery also has been recognized for her contributions to the field of higher education, including being awarded the Business Faculty Member of the Year in 2003 and 2006.
