Mississippi University for Women’s Vandergriff College of Nursing and Health Sciences is once again atop the state in the annual program rankings, continuing its tradition of excellence in producing skilled, qualified graduates.  

Niche.com places The W as the best school in the state for nursing.

Niche utilizes data provided by the United States Department of Education as well as reviews from students for the ranking. The W received an overall grade of B.

In addition, Niche.com ranked The W 39th nationally in best schools for nursing. There were 761 schools ranked nationally.

The W also topped the state on RegisteredNursing.org’s best RN programs in the state.

RegisteredNursing.org is an online resource for finding nursing education and employment resources.

The ranking is based on NCLEX-RN scores, the national licensing exam. Graduates of The W’s program must pass the exam to become registered nurses. The W had the highest cumulative pass rate in the state with a score of 99.36, maintaining first place in the state for another year.

The W raked in a number of secondary rankings such as: second best value college in the state, fourth best college campus in the state and sixth best college for business in the state, all by Niche.com.

The Vandergriff College of Nursing and Health Sciences is home to more than 900 students and is composed of the Department of Associate of Science in Nursing, the Department of Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program, the Department of Graduate Nursing, the Department of Health and Kinesiology and the Department of Speech-Language Pathology.
