New applications are posted to the website by the first week of December yearly.
All applicants must have a current unencumbered Mississippi LPN license and must have verification of at least one year's work experience (860 hours) as an LPN in a clinical setting within the last two years prior to admission to the LPN/RN Advanced Placement Option.
Prerequisite courses must be completed as follows:

* Applicants may apply with at least twenty (20) prerequisite hours completed, which must include Human Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab, Human Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab, and College Algebra. All twenty-four (24) hours, along with the Summer nursing courses, must be successfully completed before the Fall Term.
MUW GPA and overall GPA on all work attempted must be ≥ 2.0. Official transcripts from all colleges attended, including The W, must be mailed to the ASN Program office or e-scripted to asn@muw.edu.
An official document showing the national ACT score must be submitted uploaded with the online application or e-mailed to asn@muw.edu. The ACT score must show the student's First and Last Name. A score on a high-school transcript, or a score sheet from national ACT will be acceptable. Superscores are not accepted.
a. Students must have an ACT composite score of 18 if taken in or after October 1989, or 15 if taken before October 1989.
If the applicant has ever been enrolled in a Registered Nurse program, a letter from that nursing school must be submitted stating that the student is eligible for readmission into that nursing program. If a student has failed the same nursing course twice, or failed two different nursing courses, the student is ineligible for admission into the ASN program.
THE ASN ONLINE APPLICATION, ALONG WITH OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS, ACT VERIFICATION, WORK VERIFICATION, AND LPN LICENSE MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN NURSING PROGRAM CHAIR'S OFFICE BY THE 5:00 PM APRIL 1ST DEADLINE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT TO ENSURE THAT ALL REQUIRED MATERIALS ARE RECEIVED BY THE ASN PROGRAM
All official transcripts, ACT documentation and completed ASN LPN/RN Advanced Placement Option application must be submitted together in a large brown envelope and mailed to:
