The “Educator as Reflective Decision Maker” is the model for the conceptual framework for the educator preparation programs at Mississippi University for Women. The programs have adopted the Core Standards of the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC) and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards as goals for teacher candidates, the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders for school administrator candidates, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards for early childhood educators.
The W is ranked as a The Nation's Leading Transfer University by the Chronicle of Higher Education and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. You'll find admissions counselors that will work with you to make your transition from a community college to The W a seamless and simple process. You will also find scholarships and financial aid options designed with you in mind and a welcome and inviting campus community with other transfer students, just like you.
It's not just a tagline. We honestly believe the cost of a college education should not be a deterrent to your pursuit of earning a college degree. We were founded on the belief everyone should be able to get a college education. Year after year, The W ranks as one of the Best Value Universities. The W has kept our tuition among the lowest in the South. We offer that same low tuition to residents of every state.
