Location

The Plymouth Bluff Environmental Center is conveniently located in the heart of the Golden Triangle area of east-central Mississippi, just ten minutes away from historic Columbus.

A progressive city of 30,000, Columbus is home to Mississippi University for Women and Columbus Air Force Base, and offers plentiful shopping, restaurants, motels and cultural activities, more than 100 antebellum homes, cultural and social events of The W and Mississippi State University in neighboring Starkville; and the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, which offers fishing, boating, camping, and various other family activities.

The Plymouth Bluff Environmental Center is just 15-minutes away from the Golden Triangle Regional Airport, an hour from Tupelo, two and a half hours from Jackson and Memphis, and two hours from Birmingham.

Directions

Traveling West on U.S. Highway 82 (from Tuscaloosa)

Continue through all 5 Columbus exists and cross the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Take the first exit (Macon/Meridian) west of the Waterway and turn RIGHT onto the West Bank Access Road. This road will T-into Old West Point Road at the river. Turn LEFT and look for the entrance to Plymouth Bluff about ½ mile on the right.

Traveling East on U.S. Highway 82 (from Starkville)

Go past the exit for Highway 45A (West Point/Meridian) and the exit to the Golden Triangle Airport. Take the next exit (Highway 45 South – Macon/Meridian), turn LEFT and cross over Highway 82 onto West Bank Access Road. This road will T-into Old West Point Road at the river. Turn LEFT and look for the entrance to Plymouth Bluff about ½ mile on the right.

Traveling South on U.S. Highway 45 (from Aberdeen)

Continue on Highway 45 South/82 West toward Starkville and take the first exit beyond the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Turn RIGHT onto the West Bank Access Road. This road will T-into Old West Point Road at the river. Turn LEFT and look for the entrance to Plymouth Bluff about ½ mile on the right.

Traveling North on Highway 45 (from Macon)

At the junction with Highway 82, rather than turning toward Columbus, continue north across the overpass. This will be the West Bank Access Road, which will T-into the Old West Point Road at the river. Turn LEFT and look for the entrance to Plymouth Bluff about ½ mile on the right.

Traveling South on U.S. Highway 45 Alternate (from West Point)

Turn EAST onto Highway 82. Go past the exit to Golden Triangle Regional Airport and take the next exit (where Highway 45 goes south to Macon/Meridian). Turn LEFT, cross the overpass, and continue on the West Bank Access Road. This road will T-into Old West Point Road at the river. Turn LEFT and look for the entrance to Plymouth Bluff about ½ mile on the right.

Note: If you follow the signs to Stennis Lock & Dam West Bank, you will see the entrance to Plymouth Bluff ½ mile after turning onto Old West Point Road.
