Key Graduation Requirements for All Baccalaureate Degrees
For advising purposes, this form lists key graduation requirements which apply to all baccalaureate degrees.
Note that many programs of study have more stringent requirements, such as higher required GPA.
Students are responsible for knowing the requirements of their chosen program of study. By signing the form, the student acknowledges this responsibility and an understanding of the key graduation requirements listed here.
A minimum of 120 semester hours earned is necessary for graduating with a baccalaureate degree; however, some programs require additional hours beyond the minimum of 120.
Only 90 hours of junior/community college, AP (Advanced Placement), CLEP (College-Level Examination Program), IB (International Baccalaureate), and CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) credit can be applied toward a baccalaureate degree.
Student must have a 2.0 overall GPA.
Student must have a 2.0 MUW GPA.
Student must have a 2.0 or higher GPA in their major, depending on their major.
An Application for Degree must be filed with the Office of the Registrar in order for a student to be considered eligible for graduation. The Application for Degree and information regarding the commencement ceremony are available online on the Registrar’s page. See the Academic Calendar for the dates by which you must have filed your Application for Degree to be eligible for graduation. Students that select the option to participate in the Commencement ceremony on their application, must order regalia from the campus bookstore to participate.
It is the responsibility of the student to assure all final student transcripts from other institutions have been received in the Registrar’s Office. All final student transcripts from other institutions must be received in the Registrar’s Office in order for a student’s degree to be conferred. Failure to meet all of the graduation requirements in the term indicated on the submitted application will require a resubmission of a new Application.
