Registering on Banner Self-Service

Students must meet with their academic advisor to obtain their RAP# (Registration Access Pin) prior to registering for classes. Students will not be able to register if they do not have their RAP#.
If you have access to WConnect, go to Banner Self-Service; otherwise set up WConnect following the instructions here.
After signing into WConnect select the QuickLaunch icon at the top right of the screen.
In this section you will see the Banner Self-Service icon, select and the Welcome to Banner Self-Service page appears.
From the Student Dashboard, under the Student Schedule and Registration section, select Prepare for Registration. From the drop menu select the Terms Open for Registration and continue. This will display your registration status, academic standing, holds, time ticket timeframe, and your primary curriculum information. All holds must be cleared before you can process courses to add or drop.
From the Student Dashboard, under the Student Schedule and Registration section, select the option Register for Classes. Terms that are open for registration will be displayed in the drop-down menu, select the appropriate term and continue. Students should enter their RAP number to proceed to registration. Courses can be entered through the Find Classes or Enter CRNs function.
The Find Classes function allows students to search for a course by subject, course number or keyword; and the advanced search option gives more in-depth search options such as instructor, department, part of term, etc. Once the search is executed the results will display a table of courses by title, subject, number, instructor, meeting times, etc. Selecting the add button to the right of the course in the table will display the courses in the student schedule, schedule details and summary. The Search Again button allows students to search additional courses to be added to their schedule. To finalize registration, select the Submit button at the bottom right of the screen.
Whereas the ENTER CRNs will only display the course associated with the specific CRN. Enter the CRN number in the CRN box. Tab and an additional blank CRN box appears, continue to register with your course CRNs. Once you have completed entering your CRNs, select Add to Summary and the courses will be listed in your schedule/schedule detail. To finalize registration, select the Submit button at the bottom right of the screen.
Schedules can be printed by selecting the print function on your internet browser. Note: Some labs require that students provide their own paper for printing.
Make sure to logout once registration is completed.
There is a 5-minute limit to the amount of time you can remain in the system without changing web pages. If the time is exceeded you will be required to regain access. Using the back and forward buttons in your browser will allow changing of web pages.
To ensure student privacy and security, remember to exit the system when finished. This will ensure that no one can access the system using your ID and PIN. Close the browser after each session.
Note: Special Grading Options – Audit and Pass/Fail
If a student registers for a class and wishes to change the grading option to audit or pass/fail, the student must obtain a Change of Grading Mode Request form from the department of their major. This form needs approval from the student’s advisor and their department chair before submitting to the Registrar’s Office for processing.
