About Dr. Ball
Laura J Ball, PhD, CCC-SLP (she/her) completed a PhD at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with specialization in neuromotor speech disorders and augmentative and alternative communication. She has over 40 years of experience as a clinical speech-language pathologist, having practiced in multiple settings. Her research addresses AAC and neuromotor speech disorders across the lifespan. She presents nationally and internationally on these topics. At present, Dr. Ball teaches graduate courses in AAC, is writing a text on clinical implementation of AAC for individuals with progressive neuromuscular disease, supervises clinical implementation of the SPEAK OUT! Program at MUW and continues a longstanding ALS bulbar assessment research program.
