About Ms. Jones

Laurel Venable Jones, MS, CCC-SLP joined the Mississippi University for Women (MUW/The W) Speech-Language Pathology department as a full-time faculty member in 2023. She graduated from The W with a BS and MS in speech-language pathology and has been a practicing clinician since 2009. She has provided therapeutic services across the life span within acute care, outpatient, skilled nursing home, and private school settings. In addition to her clinical work in the MUW Speech and Hearing Center, she is the co-sponsor of the MUW chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She also instructs undergraduate courses such as Phonetics, Basic Diagnostic Procedures, and Language Disorders in Children. Mrs. Jones is certified to provide Learning Language and Loving It™: The Hanen Program for Early Childhood Educators, FEES examinations, SPEAK OUT! Therapy for Parkinson’s, and LSVT Loud for Parkinson’s. Mrs. Jones enjoys helping others achieve their goals through her professional and volunteer capacities and strives to continue those positive impacts while here at The W.
