Catherine Pierce returns to the symposium with her brand-new collection, Danger Days, released on Oct. 15. In these poems, Pierce stares down the challenges facing our world from environmental hazards to climate change to gun violence and more, yet within the chaos of our times, she also manages to find hope and love. Pierce co-directs the creative writing program at Mississippi State University. Her previous collections include The Tornado Is the World, The Girls of Peculiar, and Famous Last Words.
