Becky Hagenston is Professor of English at Mississippi State University. Her latest collection of stories, The Age of Discovery, won the Jounnal Non/Fiction Prize from Mad Creek Books. Individual stories have been awarded two O Henry Prizes and a Pushcart Prize. A frequent guest of the symposium, her previous collectiosn include Scavengers, Strange Weather, and A Gram of Mars.
