A native of rural Hamstead North Carolina, Earl S. Braggs has taught English at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga for many years. He is a well-known poet with 14 poetry collections to his name, the most recent of which are Obama’s Children and Walking Back From Woodstock. He will read from his debut memoir A Boy Named Boy, which has been described as a “complex jazz memoir of growing up black and poor in rural North Carolina.”
