Jacqueline Allen Trimble returns to the symposium with her second collection of poetry How to Survive the Apocalypse, which the Southern Review of Books praised in a recent review, saying, “Trimble takes direct aim at what ails us and what threatens to end us.” Trimble is a Cave Canem fellow whose first poetry collection, American Happiness, was awarded the Balcones Poetry Prize. A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Trimble chairs the Department of Languages and Literatures at Alabama State University.
