Olivia Clare Friedman holds the Nina Bell Suggs Professor Chair in the University of Southern Mississippi’s Center for Writers. She is a native of Louisiana, the setting of her debut novel Here Lies, which has been named one of Southern Review of Books‘ Best Southern Books for March 2022 and made Bitter Southerner’s 2022 Summer Reading Roundup. She is also the author of the story collection Disasters in the First World and the poetry collection The 26-Hour Day.
