Gerry Wilson appears at the symposium with her debut novel That Pinson Girl, the story of a single mother in north Mississippi at the time of the First World War. A native of Pontotoc near where the novel is set, Wilson is retired from her career as a high school teacher of English and creative writing. She now lives in Jackson, and she has previously published the collection Crosscurrents and Other Stories.
