At its founding in 1884, our institution became the nation’s first public college for women. Through the years, we’ve changed in many ways, but our commitment to expanding opportunities for women’s leadership and preparing women to seize them endures. The Center for Women’s Research and Public Policy advances this mission by providing training that empowers women to seize leadership in politics and public service, supporting interdisciplinary research into women’s experiences and gender dynamics, and collaborating with campus and community partners to increase awareness of all issues affecting women and girls.
