Up to ten prospective W freshman students who are interested in entering The W in the Fall semester, who are not eligible to submit the FAFSA, will be eligible to apply for merit awards, based on ACT/SAT score and grade point average. Information regarding applying for the award will be communicated to International students during the admission process.
Awards are for students entering for the fall term only. Priority deadline to apply for the scholarship is March 1 and the final deadline to apply is May 1. Students will be notified about the award application process by email at the point of admission.
Students must be prepared to answer the question: "Why are you interested in attending Mississippi University for Women and how will receiving this scholarship help you achieve your goals?" Students must also submit two letters of reference, translated into English.
A scholarship committee including one faculty member from each College will be asked to review, and select, the individuals who will be offered the scholarships.
Award notifications will go out to students by the second week of May each year.
International transfer students are eligible for institutional scholarships at the point of admission.
In addition to the academic and need-based scholarships that are awarded to you during the admissions process, many of the academic programs and departments at The W have separate scholarships that are exclusively for their majors. These scholarships have their own application, deadline, and selection process.
