Dual Enrollment Instructor Placement & Required Credentials
Instructors for dual enrollment courses can be placed at their high school campus or assigned MUW faculty to teach courses, and they may be offered online or in person. MUW offers an instructor stipend for any courses taught by high school faculty on their campuses.
Minimum Academic Credentials
Mississippi University for Women (MUW) adheres to the accreditation standards set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Faculty teaching undergraduate courses must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Hold a doctoral or master’s degree in the teaching discipline, OR
- Hold a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.
Submission of Credentials
Prospective instructors for dual enrollment courses must submit the following:
- Official Transcript(s) – Submit transcripts to MUW reflecting the highest degree earned and any additional graduate coursework in the discipline.
- Current Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Résumé – A digital copy may be sent as an email attachment.
- Two Signed Letters of Recommendation – Letters must be sent directly from the recommenders via email and not forwarded by the applicant.

Technology and Learning Management System
We utilize multiple technologies for your class success. The W uses Canvas for all of its online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses. Faculty and students should access Canvas via the single sign-on campus portal, accessible from the link at the top of most pages of the university’s website. Please use these guides to get started using Canvas and contact the Kossen Center for Teaching & Learning with any questions.
