The Culinary Arts Pathway is designed for a student interested in managing a kitchen or owning their own restaurant.
Students earn their Culinary Arts Technology Certificate from MGCCC in their first year, allowing them to begin working in some of the best kitchens on the Coast. In their second year, students earn the Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts Technology to improve their career opportunities. In the third year students earn their Associate of Arts degree and complete many of their core courses toward a bachelor degree.
Students then transfer to The W's Culinary Arts Institute, the South's premier culinary school. The Bachelor of Business Administration – Culinary Management Concentration can be completed entirely online in one year, without having to leave your current job. Courses included marketing, accounting, and law courses which relate specifically to business side of the culinary world. After completing the bachelor degree, students are encouraged to apply to The W's MBA program, completed online in one year.
From cook to chef to executive, without ever leaving the Coast.
The W is ranked as a The Nation's Leading Transfer University by the Chronicle of Higher Education and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. You'll find admissions counselors that will work with you to make your transition from a community college to The W a seamless and simple process. You will also find scholarships and financial aid options designed with you in mind and a welcome and inviting campus community with other transfer students, just like you.
It's not just a tagline. We honestly believe the cost of a college education should not be a deterrent to your pursuit of earning a college degree. We were founded on the belief everyone should be able to get a college education. Year after year, The W ranks as one of the Best Value Universities. The W has kept our tuition among the lowest in the South. We offer that same low tuition to residents of every state. Plus, we have a range of scholarships and grants to help you pay for your education.
