Swim Lesson Policies
Class Size
To ensure quality of our swim instruction program, the Assistant Director of Facilities & Aquatics determines class size. Class sizes are determined on an individual basis and vary depending on class level and instructor experience.
Minimum Enrollment
Each class has a minimum enrollment of 5 participants. If minimum enrollment is not met, classes may be consolidated or cancelled.
Cancellations
Cancellations made prior to the start of each session will receive a full refund. Cancellations made after the session begins will not be refunded unless a documentable illness, injury, or a special circumstance arises.
Missed Classes
We do not offer a refund or a makeup class for participants who miss a class. If an instructor has to cancel class, the instructor will reschedule class. Participants are asked to be dressed and ready for class 5 minutes prior to the start of class. In the case that a student is late, class time cannot be made up.
Swim Attire
All participants are required to wear appropriate swimwear. Street clothes, gym shorts, or T-shirts are prohibited. Young children who are not potty trained must wear swim diapers. Participants are reminded to bring their own towel. Participants are welcome to bring their own swim goggles and swim cap. We do have goggles, swim caps, ear plugs, and nose plugs available for purchase at our Customer Service Desk.
Non-Members
All GROUP SWIM participants who are not Campus Recreation members will be given a group swim pass. This pass will allow access to our facility during the lesson time only. This pass allows the participants and parents and/or guardians access to the facility. We ask parents and/or guardians not to bring children who are not participants in our Group Swim program.
Parental Supervision
Parents and/or guardians must accompany their child to swim lessons. Participants are not allowed to enter the water unless the instructor is ready for class to begin and must exit the water at the end of class. Parents and/or guardians may not leave their child unattended in the locker rooms. Parents are reminded that all participants need to be completely dry and dressed before leaving the poll or locker room area. Parents are also strongly encouraged to remind their children that running on the pool deck, horseplay, and chewing gum are not permitted in the Natatorium.
